Re: Disciplinary Letters

Disciplinary letters in your personnel files should be reviewed every 12 months and, unless there are continuing issues relating to those letters, you are entitled to have them removed. Serious misconduct letters, however, may be kept on file for three years.

Standing Committees

The committee submits its reports to the 998 Executive who is responsible for ensuring its proper functioning.

CUPE 998 Trustees

Helen Holgate is chairperson for the Trustee Committee.

Other members of the Trustee Committee are Sean Frederiksen and Erinn Harvey.

Internal Audit

The Trustee committee will conduct an internal audit of the CUPE financial books once the external audit is complete.

Local 998 trustees will be booked off on union business (usually for one day) to conduct the audit. They receive $100 per audit, plus any other approved out-of-pocket expenses such as startup and lunch rate.

The Committee will report their findings to members at a General Membership Meeting and will also forward a copy of their report to CUPE National.
